Ormoc acquires new rescue truck
ORMOC City in Leyte has acquired a new rescue truck for faster response time from the Organized Rescue and Medical Aid of Ormoc City (Ormoc) during emergency situations. Ormoc team leader Dominic Eamiguel said the new vehicle can also be used as equipment storage or carrier.

Civic groups’ role in disasters
ORMOC CITY -- After Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) struck, local civic groups were among the first to help survivors in Ormoc City. With the devastation too massive for the government to address alone, volunteers went out to do their share, distributing relief goods, rebuilding houses and providing livelihood opportunities to the survivors.

Yolanda-hit schools receive 2,000 new books
ORMOC CITY – The Australian Government and The Asia Foundation have doanted 2,000 new books to the schools damaged by Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Eastern Visayas to help improve education in the Philippines. Australia donated 2,000 new books to schools in Ormoc City, Leyte through The Asia Foundation’s Books for Asia program.
