Proposed return of baseball program may start by 2010 (North Texas Daily)
For more than two decades baseball fans at UNT have had to travel to Arlington to enjoy a live game. For 21 years, UNT has not had a collegiate baseball program, since it was cut, along with men's soccer, in 1987.

UT-Arlington and baseball coach Darin Thomas have agreed on a contract extension that would keep Thomas at the school through 2010-2011. In Thomas' first year as UTA's head coach, the Mavericks won 26 games, doubling their win total from 2007.

Arlington, Elk Grove Slug It Out (Des Plaines Journal)
